This first edition includes 12 viewpoints within the National Park on Kīlauea, each featuring an eruption sequence of images & short video.

Reveal each eruption headline by scanning below the photo or video, then advance to the next. Tap any image for more detailed information, or just go with the flow!

Use the map view to explore eruption sites and viewpoints, show directions to a nearby viewpoint, and open USGS web content for each eruption.

Created by a volcanologist and award-winning private tour guide to include public domain historical images as well as exclusive in-house time-lapse video production.


Version Limitations:

• 12 viewpoints are included in this first edition; more will be included in future versions.

• 360-degree background images are of limited resolution, but will be upgraded in future versions.

• Navigation works exclusively by moving the device and tapping buttons; an additional panning mode is planned for future versions.

• Eruption media is intentionally shared between multiple viewpoints and displays differently from each location.
